About
Welcome to Mochinut San Jose, a vibrant dining destination nestled within the bustling San Pedro Square Market at 100 N Almaden Ave, San Jose, CA 95110. This delightful eatery combines the best of both worlds, serving up mouthwatering mochi donuts and irresistible corn dogs that are sure to elevate your food experience.
At Mochinut San Jose, the star of the show is undoubtedly the mochi donut. Customers rave about its unique chewy texture, which is the result of using glutinous rice flour—an Asian staple that lends a rich and satisfying mouthfeel. Many reviewers, like Melinda Ng, have delighted in the diverse flavor offerings, including Pistachio, Thai Tea, and Milk Pebble. Each donut is delicately sweetened, ensuring the flavor perfectly complements the subtly chewy base. Customers often find themselves returning for that nostalgic gooey goodness that only a true mochi donut can provide.
But don't overlook the corn dogs—they're quite the treat too! With options ranging from the classic Original Hot Dog to more adventurous varieties like the Hot Cheetos and Takis Hot Dogs, there's something for everyone. Reviewers like J Frank highlight the game-changing nature of the Mochi Corn Dog, where the typical crispy exterior meets a chewy mochi twist, making each bite not only flavorful but also an experience in culinary texture.
In addition, Mochinut San Jose prides itself on quick service and a friendly atmosphere, thanks to their efficient self-service kiosks and welcoming staff. As noted by Anne Margaret White, the donuts are made fresh to order, ensuring you get the best in taste and quality. The vibrant market setting adds to the overall convivial atmosphere, making it an ideal stop for food lovers looking to explore a range of flavors.
Whether you’re a die-hard fan of mochi or just curious to try something different, Mochinut San Jose stands out as a must-visit spot. It's more than just food; it’s a culinary adventure waiting to be experienced!
“ Months ago, on a whim I tried my first mochi donut here in a bustling San Jose food hall. It was delightfully chewy, slightly crispy, and possessed a sweetness delicately balanced with rich flavor. Ever since that day Ive tried a mochi donut at every opportunity in my travels, and thus far have only tasted bitter disappointment. Its all overly sweet, flavorless, processed slop compared to that original protodonut. I may never experience such gooey joy again. It haunts me. Corn dog was pretty good too. ”
“ We really liked the doughnuts. The dough is delicious, so much so that I thought it was better than the sugary frosting. We also had the hotdogs, which were fine, but not as good as doughnuts, which are the true stars. The pistachiocoated one was my favorite. Selfservice order, quick, laiddown, friendly staff. ”
“ Excellent mochi donuts with a super soft and chewy texture! There were a variety of flavors so went with the Pistachio, Thai Tea, and Milk Pebble. The icing is quite sweet but the flavors are very nice! Located within the San Pedro market, an excellent place to try other foods around too! ”
“ What a fun stop inside the huge San Pedro Square Market. Fresh donuts made to order. You can see the available varieties in the display window, then use the selfserve kiosk to place your order. Our order came out pretty quickly. And we finished almost as fast! We had the church, original, and raspberry mochinuts. Delicious! ”
“ Mochinut is a mustvisit for anyone who loves unique and delicious treats. The Mochi Corn Dog is a gamechanger, combining the chewy texture of mochi with the savory goodness of a classic corn dog. The batter is perfectly crispy, while the mochi adds a delightful twist to this popular dish. Each bite is a burst of flavor that will leave you craving more. The presentation is also topnotch, with each corn dog looking almost too pretty to eat. The staff at Mochinut are friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. Whether youre a fan of mochi, corn dogs, or just good food in general, Mochinut is definitely worth a visit. Dont miss out on this unique culinary adventure! ”
“ We live in Monterey and have been waiting to try these Mochi donuts. Im so happy we decided to go here! The self check out was so quick I didnt realize the rice Korean corn dog was there as well!! Our first bite of the donuts were warm crispy and chewy And the corn dog was just as good! See you next time ! ... ”
“ I had the ramen hot dog with no sugar and 3 mochi donuts. Ramen dog was very big and well worth the price which is nice. Imagine ramen stuck to corn dog batter and the ramen is also fried with it. To go boxes were very nice too the dogs were held between these nice prongs to prevent any movement and mochi donuts had a separate box. ”
“ I recently discovered mochinut and there was no going back! These donuts have a delightfully chewy texture thanks to the rice flour they use when making the donuts. They are also just sweet enough but not a huge sugar bomb like other donuts. My favorite flavors are strawberry and the churro but all of them are worth a try. They also have these amazing corn dogs that are breaded with things like crunchy ramen and hot cheetos vs. The original cornbread. These are pretty amazing! Overall the donuts are a bit of a splurge but worth it once in a while. They also have several locations. ”
